The bakery is on Highway 72 northeast of Florence. Its owner is Mickey E. Culpepper, and his father was Eugene "Bob" Culpepper (1908-1989) from East Alabama near Meridian, MS. These Culpeppers are descendants of Joel Culpepper who first came to Alabama from Georgia prior to 1850.

Royce Culpepper reports that when Mickey first moved out there, nothing was near him. Now it is developed almost too much. He moved out there because a new bridge over the Tennessee River was to take his property. The bridge has not yet been started as of 1998.
