Clinch County

History

In the Lower Coastal Plains Region of Georgia, Clinch County was formed in 1850 from Ware and Lowndes Counties. Its county seat, Homerville, is on US-441 about 230 miles SSE of Atlanta and 100 miles northwest of Jacksonville, FL. Clinch is bordered by the Georgia counties of Ware, Atkinson, Lanier, Lowndes and Echols and the Florida counties of Baker and Columbia.
