History

In southwestern Indiana, Vanderburgh County was formed in 1818 from Gibson, Posey and Warrick Counties. Its county seat, Evansville, is on I-164 about 160 miles southwest of Indianapolis. Vanderburgh is bordered by the Indiana counties of Posey, Gibson and Warrick, as well as by Henderson Co., KY.
