Caddo Parish

History

In the Uplands region of northern Louisiana, and in the northwestern corner of the state, Caddo Parish was formed in 1838 from Natchitoches Parish. Its parish seat, Shreveport, is at the intersection of I-20 and I-49, about 200 miles northwest of Baton Rouge. Caddo is bordered by the Louisiana parishes of Bossier, Red River and De Soto; the Texas counties of Cass, Marion, Harrison and Panola; and the Arkansas county of Miller.
