County History and Geography
Hunt
County was formed in 1846 from Fannin and
Nacogdoches
Counties, and is In the Blackland Prairie Region of Northeastern Texas. Its county seat, Greenville,
is on I-30, about 40 miles
northeast of Dallas. Hunt County is bordered by the counties of
Fannin, Delta, Hopkins,
Rains,
Van
Zandt, Kaufman, Rockwall and Collin.
