     I John Spencer Colpeper formally of Woodford in the County of Essex and late of Chelsea in the County of Middlesex and now residing in the Waterloo Road St. Georges Fields in the County of Surrey Gentleman being of sound mind and memory and understanding do hereby make, publish and ordain this to be my Last Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say…
     under the will of John Colpeper or Culpeper of Greenway Court (John Culpeper of Astwood in Feckenham, co. Worcs.) with the County of Kent as well as by a solemn deed executed by Law I am entitled to retain freehold, leasehold and codihold estates in the several Counties and places following u*t**e said County of Kent, Sussex, Wiltshire and Hampshire and in the Isle of Wight as well as in South Alley in Moorefields London and situated in the Kingdom of Great Britain and whereas in consequence of *ereniary and other **tou*es I have before now of such Estates or sought to recover the ** and profits thereof and whereas Mr William Eagle of the Borough of Southwark solicitor has ** ** **at ** and has at his expense set up an ** to hold said several Estates for the benefit of myself and the Legatees' thereafter named and for the purposes of ** the employed Mr Thomas Bonnett of **kellhouse Yard attorney at Law to recover the said estates as well as all the ** and profits thereof u*ta the ** of such recovery in case of my death or during such proceedings it is my will and wish that for the considerations aforesaid…
     I hereby give devise and bequest unto the said William Ward Eagle one third part share and proportion of all property which may be received by his **aus to and for his own use and benefit and to and for his Heirs and Assigns for ever and
     I hereby devise and request my son John Spencer Colepeper to assist this said William Ward Eagle in a getting in or establishing my rights to such estates and
     I hereby give devise and bequeath unto my said son John Spencer Colpeper (John Spencer Colepeper (4)) one equal this part the other two thirds for his own use and benefit provided that he uses every ex** and assistance in his power towards recovering ……………..the same and I give and bequeath the remainder of the two thirds out of the proceeds thereof to my dear wife Jane Potter Colpeper (Jane Potter) with her ** ** and **of her ** and
     I give, devise and bequest to my sister Mary Batheiton (Mary Colepeper) widow the sum of Two Thousand Pounds of lawful money of Great Britain
     to my Goddaughter Francis Colepeper (unidentified) double the sum of Three Hundred Pounds of lawful money of Great Britain
to my daughter Elizabeth ** Colepeper (Elizabeth Caroline Colepeper) the sum of Five Hundred Pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to my said daughter Elizabeth Colpepepr the sum of Fifty Pounds for which her receipt **shall be a proper birthday and
     I further order and bequest out of the estates or ** or other property belonging to me that my Executors shall and so pay to Mr Thomas Beuett of Tokenhouse yard or such other person or agent or Solicitor as the said William Ward Eagle may use to recover the ** the value of two years rent as a ** for this ** **and ** in the recovery thereof in lieu of any charge on my Estate provided that either I or my Executors and Executrix abuses or assigns be recharged with or made accountable for any future ** ** two years rent and I hereby authorise and direct my Executors and Executrix to pay and discharge the account accordingly and
     I hereby direct, authorise and empower my Executers and Executrix as soon as thy obtain possession of the property to sell ** of the ** or any part thereof in such ** as they shall think proper so as to enable them to fulfil the trust expected and ** in this Will and I further order and direct that my Executors or Executrix shall not be accountable for any sum or sums of money beyond which each shall respectively receive and
     I appoint my dear wife my residuary Legatee.
     I also constitute and appoint my dear wife and Sir Edward Bayiaue** of ** Gloucestershire Bart my joint Executors & Executrix to this my Last Will and Testament and
     I hereby revoke any Will or Wills which may ** have been made by me, and
     I also give and bequeath to my dear wife all papers, documents and ** and deeds either in my **or in that of any other ** to whom I may have entrusted them.
