Her significance on this record is that she brought the Culpepers a new link with Virginia, for she was the aunt of Henry Norwood, the cavalier, whose romantic Voyage to Virginia in 1649 is a classic of adventure (Force's Tracts, vol. iii, No. 10), and who was, after the Restoration, the Treasurer of the colony. See Rudder, Gloucestershire, p. 521 ; Fosbrook, Abstracts of Smiths Lives of the Berkeleys, p. 181; Nash, Worcestershire, ii, 163; and Henry Norwood's will, 1689, P.C.C. Ent, 143.
