Ellis Cook Bass 42397

After Annie and Ellis divorced, Ellis was working at Dixie Cotton Mills as cotton mill operator when he registered for WWI draft 3 December 1917.[1] He listed his brother, Clarence, as nearest relative. [2]

Ellis married Gladys B. Kennedy about 1928.

Ellis and Gladys are listed in the 1930 Hampton, Henry County, Georgia census living with Ellis’ brother, Clarence, and family. Ellis was a cotton mill drawer and Gladys was a cotton mill spinner.[3]

In 1940 Troup County, Georgia census, Ellis was working as a painter in the lumber industry. Gladys was a spinner in the cotton mill industry. He and Gladys were lodgers in the household of R.H. Scarborough.[4]

Ellis and Gladys are listed in the LaGrange, Georgia City Directory in 1950, 1952, 1956,1960.[5] He was a painter.

Ellis died in Troup County, Georgia 13 November 1974.[6] He and Gladys are buried in Hillview East Cemetery in LaGrange, Troup County, Georgia.[7] Ellis’ brother, Clarence, is also buried in Hillview East Cemetery.
