Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home, 12053 Texas Highway 64 W., with Pastor Matt Benson officiating.

Pallbearers will be Justin Wood, Colton Wood, Jackson Culpepper, Randy Lambright, James Cherry and James Byrd Jr.

Carla was born on Oct. 3, 1965, in Palestine to Walter and Dorothy Willhite. Carla attended school in Tyler and was a 1984 John Tyler High School graduate. She was active in many school activities.

She moved to Longview in 1994, where she met the love of her life, David Culpepper. They raised three sons, Justin, Colton and Jackson. She had the pleasure of three grandchildren. She loved her family and cherished every moment of time with them. Carla had many friends who knew of her sense of humor, quick wit and loving spirit. She was always willing to help others in need. She will be missed by her family and many friends.

Her family wishes to extend a heartfelt appreciation to those who cared for her, Good Shepherd Medical Center fourth floor oncology and Medical Intensive Care Unit.

Carla was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Willhite.

She is survived by her loving family, husband, David Culpepper, of White Oak; father, Walter Willhite, of New Chapel Hill; sons, Justin Wood and Colton Wood, of White Oak, Jackson Culpepper, of Homer, La; grandchildren, Branton and Calliegh Wood, Olivia Wood and mother, Chelbi Baily; sister, Debbie Cherry, of New Chapel Hill; nieces, Jennifer Landfair, Jessica Byrd, of New Chapel Hill; and great-nieces, Ashlyn Howard, Alexis Landfair and Addisyn Byrd.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Texas Oncology, 1300 N. Fourth St., Longview, 75601; or the American Cancer Society , 1301 S. Broadway Ave., Tyler, 75701.2
