Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 61 years, Ralph H. Culpeper; four sons: Gary Williams and wife Janelle, Larry Culpeper and wife Joanne, Barry Culpeper and wife Debbie, and Jerry Culpeper who was her devoted caregiver; four grandchildren Shannon, Lori, Elyce and Bryce and a great-grandson, Clayton.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Thomas Alberico, Linda Sawyer and staff for their love and care that kept her with us.

Services will be Friday March 14, 12 p.m. at Level Green Baptist Church in Virginia Beach.2

Survivors include her daughter, Colleen Crawford; two sons, Jimmy Culpepper and wife Cathy and Jeff Culpepper and wife Terry; grandchildren, Jason Culpepper, Mark Crawford, Wayne Culpepper and wife Elizabeth, Jill Branch and husband Matthew, and Casey Hicks and husband Gregory, Amanda Russell and husband Red and Bud Osborn; great-grandsons Christian, Colin and Aaron and great-granddaughters Lily and Ellie. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Jim Culpepper, her son Wayne Culpepper, a beloved grandson Kenny MacKenzie, three sisters (Elsby Tucker, Myrna Dodge, and Shirley Maudlin), and four brothers (George, James, Robert, and Hugh Summerville).

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, November 9th from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Burial will be private.5

Obituary*26 Feb 2012 Services for Walter Gavin Ray Culpepper will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2012, at the chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville, with Reverend Russell Cobb officiating. Burial will be at Craig Cemetery, Kolin, Louisiana under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Pineville.
     Visitation will be Sunday, February 26, 2012, at Hixson Brothers, Pineville, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
     Gavin, 13, of Pineville, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2012, at Children's Hospital, New Orleans, Louisiana, after losing his battle with leukemia.
     He was a member of Word of Grace Church and was active in the Youth Group. Gavin loved his Lord and testified daily to uplift those that he came in contact with. Gavin was a student at Pineville Jr. High School and a member of the Red River Youth Football League. He was a star on the football field as well as off and had a tremendous sense of humor. Gavin was an inspiration to many and will be missed by all.
     He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Walter Leon Pennington, Sr. and paternal grandmother, Judy Carolyn Reeves.
     Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Chandra Pennington and Adam Culpepper; brother, Dionte Pennington; sisters, Bailey Denise Culpepper and Tatiana Pennington; grandmothers, Judy Pennington, and Betty Procell; paternal great grandmother, Jewel Reeves. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.
     A special thanks to the wonderful doctors, nurses, and staff of Children's Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana, and to Patrick F. Taylor of Hope Lodge in New Orleans.
