Mr. Edwards was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church since 1948. He served in the Army Air Corps and was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Frances; five sons, James Ivey Edwards of Clarendon, Ronald Perry Edwards of San Antonio, John Charles Edwards of Colleyville, Francis "Hank" Cannon of Amarillo and Jerry Richard Cannon of Phoenix; three daughters, Jean Cannon and Martha Sue Cannon, both of Phoenix and Carmen Lynn Archer of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Trinity United Methodist Church.6
