Marion County

County History and Geography

In the Piney Woods Region of east Texas, Marion County was formed in 1866 from Cass and Titus Counties. Its county seat, Jefferson, is on US-59, about 150 miles east of Dallas. Marion is bordered by the Texas counties of Harrison, Upshur and Cass, and the Louisiana parish of Caddo.
